Saturday morning we woke up and had our traditional yummy Saturday breakfast all together. I’m not huge into traditions, but this has become one of our favorite things to do on a Saturday morning since the boys have grown a little bigger and can eat what we eat.
Once breakfast was over, we all got ready to go ride in a combine. The boys are completely obsessed with combines, or actually anything that is BIG, has wheels, and makes a sound. Our home is surrounded by fields, so we constantly have huge farm equipment driving down our road, especially this time of year.
This was the beginning of harvest season, when we could still be barefoot outside. The boys were waving their arms at the combines and tractors, so we decided to pop a squat in the stroller and watch the action.
They won’t even sit still enough to watch television even for a quick minute if I have to run to the bathroom, so the fact that they sit so still and watch so intently is funny to me.
And again, watching the tractors out of our front windows on a day it was a tad chilly to be outside in the morning…
And then again another night before bath time…
So because of their love of all these big, noisy whatchamacallits we thought the boys would go crazy when they could get up close to the combine that they love watching. And we were right!
They loved it!!!
And then after their ride, they had to play in the cornstalks because they are obviously the best kind of “sticks”.
Their joy is contagious. So happy B and I could make their morning extra happy by doing something so simple. Can’t wait until next year’s combine ride. It’s already on our 2017 Fall Bucket List.
