This was totally intended to be a “Five for Friday” post. You know, where I post five things about my week. But that totally didn’t happen. I get distracted super easily around here. Between my three babies, endless jobs around the home, and my newest hobby, I just flit from one thing to the next. A lot of the time I leave things unfinished. So, this post is now just a “Five for Friday on a Saturday.”
|| 1 || Mother’s Day was last Sunday. It was also the six month anniversary of our losing Elle. You can read about that more here. The day was completely blessed from the very start. I opened my eyes around five and started my morning on the back porch with my coffee watching the sunrise. We ate some amazing pancakes to celebrate our sweet girl in heaven. (What’s a celebration without pancakes?!) And spent our morning at church.
The afternoon was spent resting, napping, and playing. It was the best, most sunny, beautiful day spent with my favorite people in the world. The boys were too busy for a photo, though.
|| 2 || Last summer I spent every single day outside with the boys. I would camp them out under a shady tree in the yard and I would read a book while they would play or I would endlessly stroll them around the yard. For whatever reason, I thought this year would be much of the same, and I was absolutely wrong! The boys are little explorers and when we are outside, they are curious about everything. They don’t stay in the same place and are typically going in opposite directions, so I am constantly on my toes. It’s very different than last year, but so much fun to watch them explore and grow.
|| 3 || If you follow me on Instagram, you know I post a lot of pictures of the babes. It’s my own little journal and a tiny peek into our daily lives. I don’t share a ton of pictures of the three of them in the same shot because it’s nearly impossible to get a good picture of the three of them, but when Brian captured this one evening, my heart melted! These boys ADORE their sister, and every time they kiss her or show her love, my heart melts. I think they will always be her protector. They are so busy, but many times throughout the day, they will notice her and give her some lovins’. They call her “Em” and are always saying her name. This little girl is loved more than she will ever know.
|| 4 || I started a new endeavor creating bows. It’s a small start, but it’s something I really enjoy and it’s something to busy my hands and thoughts once the babies are asleep. It’s such a fun hobby, but I would be lying if I said I haven’t thought of a name for my bows. Who knows if I will actually pursue opening up a small shop to sell them, but it is a fun thought, and for now I’m enjoying using my creativity. This is my first year not in the classroom and I was very used to imagining and creating every single day, so this is a fun alternative to release my creative energy.
|| 5 || The boys love park dates and strawberry ice cream, so I’ll just leave this cute photo here…
