Several years ago our church created a beautiful quilt. Each family of the congregation submitted a quilt square that represented their own family. Brian and I put on our square “Great is Thy Faithfulness” because we love the beautiful hymn:
“Great is Thy faithfulness!” “Great is Thy faithfulness!”
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided—
“Great is Thy faithfulness,” Lord, unto me!
And every time I see the quilt hanging on red brick wall, I smile because of the Lord’s faithfulness in giving us Heath and Nash. At the time the quilt was created, we did not have a family yet, but we would soon yearn so desperately for children. I love how He uses seemingly small things, like a quilt, to give us tiny lessons. He was faithful then and during our battle with infertility and He is still faithful now.
Heath and Nash are always my reminders of His faithfulness.
Happy birthday, my sweet boys. You mean more to me than you will ever know.
Thank you, Lord, for you unending mercies, especially those in the form of children.
